OUR LIBRARY
Welcome to the library learning center of Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau and to our program of Information and Digital Literacy. We believe that every student should have the skills necessary to navigate in today's information-rich society. The Teacher librarian along with the Library Technician will support the school in transitioning to a student-centered learning center. Determining information needs, recognizing and selecting appropriate resources - whether print or online and managing the information are fundamental skills needed for successful academic research.

Program Description
The Collège Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Library offers students an interactive space to collaborate, explore, read, conduct research or study.
Our goals for a 21st century learning center focus on the following:
• Inclusive collections that acknowledge and celebrate diverse experiences and provide instructional opportunities to empower learners as effective users and creators of information and ideas.
• Access to digital resources and tools to support transformational learning and develop the digital curation skills of students.
• Initiatives that integrate elements of deeper learning, critical thinking, information literacy, digital citizenship, creativity, innovation, and the active use of technology.
• Initiatives that encourage and facilitate students to become increasingly self-directed as they create digital products of their learning that engage them in critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic real-world problem solving.
• Provide equitable access to collection tools using digital resources, programming, and services.
• Provide flexible spaces that promote inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and community.
We offer resources in French, English and in Spanish, fiction and non-fiction books. Reference materials include print and online education resources, current magazines, DVDs, and CDs. Also, students have access to one of 16 laptops for inquiry -based learning assignments.
